Classic of the Month
Lamborghini Miura
55th Anniversary
The Lamborghini Miura P 400 was shown in the form of a motorised chassis only, as yet without a body, for the first time in 1965. The completed P 400 vehicle with a body designed by the legendary automotive designer Bertone debuted a year later – the classic 1967 model in the ZeitHaus collection also belongs to this range.
A further development, the Miura P 400 S, with an even more powerful engine with an additional 20PS, was presented in 1969. Two years later came the market launch of yet another upgraded version, the 385PS Miura SV with an engine that was just short of 4000cc. The Miura was produced from 1966 to 1973; during that time, 763 vehicles were built.
The Autostadt's ZeitHaus museum's November 2021 Classic of the Month is a 1967 model of this automotive history milestone, the Lamborghini Miura P 400, in a bright yellow called "Giallo Flay". With 350PS produced by a 3929cc engine, the Miura reaches a top speed of 280km/h. When it was launched, it cost 75,500 Deutschmarks.
The speedometer goes up to 320km/h, a hint of what a closer look at its dashboard...
...soon confirms: the Miura is a genuine supercar.
